From Beosound to High-Fidelity.
Optimize your Beocenter 2300/2500 with high Quality components..
Modifications should only be carried out by qualified personnel.
This section illustrates, how to upgrade your Beocenter 2300 for optimum sound performance by removal of no less than 16 pcs electrolytic capacitors in the audio signal path, and replacing standard op-amps with high performance types.
The modifications results in a more crisp and deep bass response, and much better resolution in the mid and treble range.
The modifications are carried out on the new model of BC2300 from about 1996. Modifications fits also on the earlier version of BC2300, but only with the changes on the mainboard (PCB2), which also has most importance for the sound improvements.
New or old models can be viewed from outside of BC 2300 on the CD player. The old model has a 1/4 circular laser diode guide, and the new has a linear guide.
Disassembly of the Beocenter 2300/2500.
Removal of the glass doors.
Remove the mains plug when the glass doors are in open posistion.
Carrefully pull the glassdoors out from Beocenter with both hands on the center of the door.
Removal of rear part.
Unscrew 7 pcs torx 10 in the rearpart and remove the rearcover.
There are now access to replace the IC4, IC5, IC6, IC7, IC8, and IC10 on PCB 2 according to the partslist shown below.
Removal of front panels.
Pull the panels out from the top corners.
There are access to replace IC3, IC4, C20 and C21 on PCB 89, on the right hand pcb with Beocenter in front of you.
Removal of mainboard (PCB2) from the chassis.
Unscrew the screws marked A.
Pull the pcb backwards and place the it on the table.
Loosen the 4 lock clips which secure the tuner module and lift it out.
There are now access to replace the C23 to C74 on the Mainboard (PCB2).

Start BC 2300/2500 modifications.
At the factory the components are glued to PCB before soldering, so a hot air solder station is recommended to remove the IC`s. The temperature should not exceed 375°C to avoid damage to the PCB tracks and components. Leaded components (capacitors) are removed with use of solder wick, also the pads for IC`s are cleaned up with the solder wick before new opamps are mounted. Use a temperature comtrolled solder iron with temparature of max 280°C.
Components which have to be changed, are all marked with a X on the photos.
